My Amazing Experience
Punjabi is my favorite language form the past year. Let me tell you what happened to me. Last year there was a wedding ceremony at my aunt’s house. Everything was fine but there were some types of flowers missing. They wanted me to go market and bring those flowers. I went to the market with my 3 cousins to buy flowers. I already knew some popular flower names in Punjabi language but not unique ones like ਨਗਰਮੋਥਾ (nagarmotha) for vetiver, ਬੁੱਟਾ (butta) for aster and ਬੈਗਨ (baigan) for eggplant flower. We were four cousins and one of us spoke Punjabi very well.
When we reached the flower shop, one of my cousins told us some punjabi jokes. We all were laughing for some time and then I asked them if anyone knew the Punjabi flower names. And my that cousin(who speaks good Punjabi) mostly knows all the flowers names in Punjabi that were in the shop at that time. First I told them some names of flowers in Punjabi that I knew and asked that cousin to told me the names of unique ones. When I and my other cousins heard the names nagarmotha and butta, we all started laughing. We find those Punjabi flower names really funny.
